GRP Products
GRP or Fibreglass products offer many advantages: Corrosion resistance, Fire retardant, light weigh, Slip and impact resistance. The moulded gratings are made from continuous glass fibre reinforcement in combination with premium grade polyester or vinyl ester resins to provide excellent corrosion resistance. The gratings have been tested in accordance with ASTM-E-84 Tunnel test method and achieved a class 1 flame spread rating of 25 or less. Our gratings are sufficiently light not to require hoists, cranes or forklifts for installation: the 25mm grating weighs 12kg/M²; the 38mm weights 19kg/M². The slip resistant feature of fibreglass grating is created uring the moulding process when the top surface naturally sinks back to create an anti-slip concave surface. A tough quartz grit is added for heavy-duty applications providing extended life.
GRP Gratings
Fibreglass GRP products have become a viable alternative for many traditionally metal items such as galvanised gratings, stair platforms and industrial flooring.
The advantages afforded by GRP over metal are: it is non-conductive and corrosion resistant; it is lighter therefore easier to work with; it doesn’t require regular painting and it can incorporate abrasive substances to reduce/eliminate slip hazards. Other benefits include its fire and impact resistance; it allows repeated deflections without permanent deformation.
GRP gratings are available in a wide range of panel sizes, colours and depths, ranging from 12mm up to 50mm, and includes a mini-mesh series.
Mini-mesh grating is 30mm thick and has apertures of just 13mm square. Because of the close bearing bars this grating has superior strength and provides smooth movement for wheelchairs and trolleys.
Gratings are available in 3 grades: Orthophalic, an industrial grade resin used in non-corrosive situations; Isophthalic, a superior grade resin which suits corrosive applications; suitable for the food and drinks sector and Vinyl-Ester, the highest quality resin and is used in highly corrosive environments from caustic to acidic.
Applications: Platforms, Walkways, Ramps, Trench covers, Stairs, Duck boards.

Treadsure stair nosings and stair treads are available for both internal and external applications. Manufactured in GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) and having a gritted anti-slip surface, Treadsure products are ideally suited where sureness of foot is important particularly in wet and/or oily conditions e.g. fire escapes.
Treadsure noses can be supplied coloured, to highlight the leading edges of steps and stair treads having a highly visible front edge are also available. This ability ensures both products are in accordance with DDA requirements and part M of building regulations.
Treadsure is quick and easy to install over concrete, stone, metal or wooden steps; an aluminium version with a 50mm wide anti-slip insert is also available providing a more decorative finish to internal stairways.
Applications: Offices, Shops, Schools, Hospitals, Public Buildings, Car Parks, Fire Escapes, Factories, Access Equipment
Treadsure is also available as flat sheet panels 3.5mm thick x 1.25M wide as standard or can be cut to suit the requirements. Surface finishes available include smooth, mirror finish, chequer plate and gritted. Ideally suited to large areas with heavy usage or where surface is prone to movement i.e. on wooden surfaces. The panels can be glued and screwed over existing slippery surfaces providing a hard wearing and durable floor surface.
Applications: Walkways, Ramps, Platforms, Bridges, Factory floors and Lorry decking.
GRP Ladder Rung covers are also available.
GRP Structures & Fabrications
Special GRP structural profiled products are available for constructing for example; Walkways, Platforms, Bridges and Mezzanines plus many other applications. Their high strength to weight ratio, electrical and thermal insulation properties makes them ideal for a wide range of specialist structures. All are made to order so any size and configuration is possible. All GRP structures are manufactured to British Standards.
